So Good They Can’t Ignore You: Why Skills Trump Passion in the Quest for Work You Love – by Cal Newport
10/10 – Review Here. Buy Here. Thoroughly debunks the “follow your passion” advice that individuals have been spoon-fed since the 1970’s. Instead, argues that gaining work one loves requires gaining career (or personal) capital and to “Be so good they can’t ignore you” (-Steve Martin). Provides plenty of psychological evidence and real-life examples to support his points. This book should be given to every high school student on the planet. Recommended reading for anyone who works or will work to earn a living.
