I have added a new Resources page for private tutors who are in search of materials to help streamline lesson planning. As I am currently working on a curriculum for a language tutoring center, I have added TWO new resources I have developed!
Language Proficiency Diagnostic Rubric
This is for language instructors who do not yet have ways of categorizing your students’ levels. I have broken the levels into Speaking Length, Vocabulary Size, and Speaking Ability. I have adapted the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines with my own analysis and materials. This rubric will be especially useful with the next resource:
The Guide to Developing ESL Content and Lesson Plans
This guide has the potential to be your bread and butter in lesson planning. I have broken down what I have found to be the most important considerations in programming content for the three major speaking levels that seek tutoring. Once internalized, the material should significantly reduce lesson planning time, while greatly increasing the efficiency of tutoring sessions. But don’t just take my word for it: Try it out!
Other Odds and Ends
As for other announcements, I have split my posts into two general categories: Blog and Articles. I have changed the navigation menu accordingly.
I am also working up to a much bigger announcement, a project I finally have time to focus on. So stay tuned!
